1. Introduction

Implementing Decision 494 - June 24, 2002 of the Prime Minister, HDIU has founded Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh faculty on 14/10/2002.

Implementing document no 2488 – 25/3/2008 of Department of Education and Training. Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh faculty has been changed to Political Theory Faculty from 06/05/2009.

5. Functions:

- Functions: Building staff, organization and management of teaching and learning political theory in full accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Along with qualified lecturers, the Faculty assembles a team teacher with teaching experience and professional qualifications including MA, PhD, Prof,…. Currently, Faculty has 19 lecturers including: 1; Associate Professor: 2; Dr: 7; Master: 7; People's Teacher: 1; Excellent teacher: 2; Senior Lecturer: 3; Lecturer: 8

6. Lecturers

Some lecturers has involved in designing training programs for Political Theory of Department of Education and Training. Besides teaching, lecturers also involve:

+ Coordinating with inspection board of education (now the Board for Testing and quality control of education) and the Training Department checks the progress and quality of teaching.

+ Join management; education and training as coordinating with the Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh and Training Department held Olympiads competitions for Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh subjects as well as participating in other competitions with other universities

+ In terms of organization, to enhance the quality and innovative methods of teaching political theory further, Faculty is designing the training system with the core of each subject is official lecturers and the supporters is long-term contracts lecturers.

II. TRAINING

1. Subject: The fundamental principles of Marxism-Leninism

- Length

+ 5 Credits equivalent to 8 learning units (120 sessions). In detail:

The 1st part: 2 credits equivalent to 3 learning units (45 sessions)

The 2nd part: 2 credits equivalent to 3 learning units (45 sessions)

The 3rd part: 1 credits equivalent to 2 learning units (30 sessions)

+Academic training: 70%

+Discussion: 30%

Objects of the subjects

+The 1st part: contains 3 chapters – giving the overview of Marxism-Leninism methodology.

+The 2nd part: contains 3 chapters – presenting the content of Marxism-Lenininsm economic theory about capitalist.

+The 3rd part: contains 3 chapters – with 2 overview chapters about  The fundamental principles of Marxism-Leninism and communist.

2/ Ho Chi Minh ideology:

- Length: 2 credits equivalent to 3 learning units (45 sessions)

+Academic training: 70%

+Discussion: 30%

- Objects of the subject:

+ Providing the understanding of ideological, moral, and cultural values ​​of Ho Chi Minh.

+ Continuing providing the fundamental knowledge about Marxism-Leninism.

+ Creating the understanding of fundamental communist party ideology.

+ Contributing to develop the human morality.
Brief description of content: In addition to the introductory chapter, subject content consists of 7 chapters: Chapter 1, the basis of the process of formation and development ideology of Ho Chi Minh; from Chapter 2 to Chapter 7 presents the basic content of Ho Chi Minh ideology.

3. Subject: “Revolutionary policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam"

- Length: 3 credits equivalent to 4 learning units (60 sessions)

+Academic training: 70%

+Discussion: 30%
