Currently, the Youth Union has managed 1,300 members participating in 02 associated unions, 50 groups and 01 group of teachers. There are 02 student unions doing activities under the direct leadership of the Party committees of the Faculties .

In addition to the main function of political education and ideological orientation for the youth, the Youth Union also evokes the spirit of creativity, pioneer, enthusiasm of  youth in the field of academy and science research, national development and defense and community development.

In the past 20 years, under the direct leadership of the Party committee, management board, the Youth Union has made many achievements in the youth movement and activities. Due to these achievements, so many groups and individuals in the school have received many awards of the Central Youth Union, the Youth Union in Hanoi, and the Youth Union of the provinces especially through the volunteer activities. Also thanks to the activities and achievements so, every year there are dozens of elite members introduced and honored to become the Vietnam Communist Party members.

In the future, the Youth Union will continue to implement the campaign " Vietnam Youth study and follow Uncle Ho’s guidelines ". This is a movement that has its content cover  all purposes, meanings and activities of union members. Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of HDIU believes that  under the leadership of Hanoi Youth Union, the Party committee and Managing board, youth movement and student work are growing strongly and reach many achievements. All members will act to be deserved to be union members and students of a leading university which has received many honors and awards by the Party and State.
